EMERGENCY ALERT!
BUSH SIGNS ARMS BILL, BUT NOT HATE BILL
By Rev. Ted Pike
14 Nov 07
On Tuesday, Pres. Bush signed the "Department
of Defense Appropriation Act," H.R. 3222. This is not the "National
Defense Appropriations Act," H.R. 1585, to which is attached
Sen. Kennedy's hate crimes amendment. H.R. 1585 remains in conference
between the House and Senate.
An irritated President said he might veto H.R. 3222 because of
an excess of expensive liberal amendments attached to it. He didn't.
We can't let him do the same with H.R. 1585 and the hate bill.
Today, the Senate is expected to instruct conferees to soon send
H.R. 1585 to the President's desk. It is critically important right
now that we overwhelm him with calls demanding he be true to his
promise to veto the hate bill. He must send H.R. 1585 back to the
Senate to have the hate bill stripped off.
