The media is not claiming that the recent tragic shooting in Red Lake, Minnesota, was a "hate crime." Yet the pro-"anti-hate"-laws, liberal media has been pushing the social buttons to suggest this outbreak of hate betrays an "epidemic of hate" that lies just underneath the social fabric.

For example, almost immediately, some of the media announced that the young shooter was a frequent visitor to neo-nazi "hate" web-sites. This inferred that he was motivated by the arch-symbol of hate, the Nazis. Similarly, a rabbi, arch-symbol of the victims of hate, the Jews, is brought before the TV camera. He reminds us, subliminally, of Auschwitz and Dachau, the consequences of such intolerance.

What's the meaning behind the manipulation? Answer: The liberal media is anxious to turn up the heat to help pass its massive federal "anti-hate" bill.

The "Hate Crimes Prevention Act of 2005," HR 259, is now in the House Judiciary Committee's Subcommittee on Crime. This Orwellian legislation, which has already been defeated three times, would set up a vast anti-hate bureaucracy similar to Sweden's and Canada's, where it eventually becomes a "hate crime" to criticize members of federally protected groups, especially homosexuals.

The Anti-Defamation League of B'Nai B'Rith, originator of the whole idea of "anti-hate laws," beginning with their Canadian anti-hate law in 1971 and model anti-hate law for 47 states, has a twisted definition of hate, which is neither the Bible's nor Webster's. It teaches that "bias" against members of federally protected groups, such as homosexuals, equals "hate." If that bias motivates any crime, then it becomes a "hate crime."

It is this twisted definition of "hate" that the ADL teaches to law enforcement officers in every precinct in America through its "Hate Crimes Training Manual for Police Officers" and through hate crimes sensitivity training seminars.

It was such ADL-indoctrinated police who descended on 11 Christians on Oct. 10th, arresting them as "hate criminals." They did so under authority of the ADL-inspired hate law of Pennsylvania and the ADL's national executive board member, Philadelphia District Attorney, Lynne Abraham.

Magnify by 50 times the persecution and legal chaos that resulted last fall in Philadelphia, and you have an idea of what can happen to America when the ADL is in the driver's seat of a vast federal "anti-hate" bureaucracy. Such federal "thought police" will be empowered to descend simultaneously on such outspoken lovers of free speech as Christians, pastors, publishers, and talk show hosts around the country, just as happened in Philadelphia.

Don't buy this latest attempt to put pressure on the House Judiciary Committee to pass the "Hate Crimes Prevention Act of 2005." The fact is, there is not an "epidemic of hate" in America. At best, only about 1/20th of 1% of all crimes in America is bias-motivated. Hardly a crisis demanding drastic federal legislation!
